Thailand's schools are full of excitement with new Financial Literacy trainings for students

Thailand's schools have every reason to joyful anticipation: The Government Savings Bank (GSB) and German Sparkassenstiftung in Thailand trained more than 20 trainers for the new Money Management for Schools training and refreshed existing Savings Game training knowledge. The experienced master trainer Axel Gellenberg trained the trainers for 5 days in the province of Udon Thani.

The enthusiasm was high on both sides: "After 2.5 years of pandemic, it's great to be able to see each other again in person, exchange ideas, discuss and laugh together," said Master Trainer Axel Gellenberg. GSB trainer Pakool Puwanich (Ammy) can only confirm this: "We really enjoyed the personal exchange. All trainers are highly motivated and looking forward to getting schoolchildren excited about financial topics with our new Money Management for Schools Training as well as the already successfully established Savings Game Training."

The Money Management for Schools Training is a one-day training and takes place at local schools. During this time, students learn valuable tips on managing income and expenses, financial goals, as well as financial pressures. The Money Management for Schools training is an excellent complement to the established Savings Game. In this training, students learn in a haptic way why saving is important and what options are available.

In order to utilize valuable time, GSB already made a concrete planning for the trainings in 2023. By June 2023, the GSB trainers will conduct 30 trainings on Money Management, Money Management for Schools, and Savings Game.

A successful refresher training for GSB Money Management trainers has already taken place in June 2022. Moreover, the Money Management for Schools training is also available in our e-learning platform. The account can be created easily, anyone is welcome to enjoy the course.
