In the new project, we have two core tasks: the first is everything to do with sustainable finance for the entire financial sector in Mongolia, and the second is to examine the feasibility of a building society model in Mongolia. Both tasks are an important part of the further development of the Mongolian economy and the entire country itself.

We cooperate with the Central Bank of Mongolia (BoM) and the Mongolia Mortgage Corporation (MIK) on both topics. Additional supporters include the Mongolian Banking Association (MBA), the Mongolian Sustainable Finance Association (MSFA) and the Banking & Finance Academy (BFA) of Mongolia. Check them here!

Especially with the topic of “building societies”, we are dealing with a topic that could have a high social impact on life in the whole of Mongolia and all in all, this topic is also something very special for the Deutsche Sparkassenstiftung. We are getting support from Germany from our partner, LBS NordOst!

In addition, we are working with GIZ on two projects. The first project deals with the topic of "Sustainable Finance for SME's" and the second project deals with the topic "Energy-efficient renovation and financing of old buildings" with a corresponding, but very special financing option, which we are currently developing, in cooperation with the city administration of the capital.
