We are happy to announce that DSIK has recently signed a partnership agreement with Sparkasse Lörrach-Rheinfelden for our new project in Laos.

On the 02nd of February 2022, the German Sparkassenstiftung for International Cooperation (DSIK) signed a partnership agreement with Sparkasse Lörrach-Rheinfelden. In the meeting, there is the participation of Mr. Christian Eschbach - Member of the Board of Sparkasse Lörrach-Rheinfelden, Rainer Liebenow - Chairman of the Board  of Sparkasse Lörrach-Rheinfelden, Niclaus Bergmann - Managing Director of DSIK and Dr. Ilonka Rühle-Stern - DSIK, Head of Division Asia.

The project serves to formalize informal financial organizations in Laos and to work on balanced economic development of rural regions.

Sparkasse Lörrach-Rheinfelden will send staff members to the project to achieve these goals. A win-win situation: to support for informal institutions on site and, at the same time, be a valuable opportunity for staff development of the Sparkasse.

Sparkasse Lörrach-Rheinfelden has about more than 400 employees and a business volume of almost EUR 3.3 billion. The coordinator for activities within the framework of the partnership agreement at Sparkasse Lörrach-Rheinfelden will be Shakib Ahmed, who had previously also successfully completed a number of expert assignments within the scope of the personnel development programs of the German Sparkassenstiftung and the Stiftung für die Wissenschaft.
