Sparkasse Allgäu
The roots of Sparkasse Allgäu go back to 1825. It is a public law institution and a member of the Bavarian Sparkasse Banks and Giro Association. It is the second largest Sparkasse bank in Swabia. Its governing bodies are the administrative board and the management board.
Sparkasse Allgäu is the largest financial institution in the region with total assets of 4.9 billion euros and is the first point of contact for people and companies in all financial matters. It also actively promotes the local economy and supports social projects, art, culture, sports, education and the environment through donations, sponsoring and its own Sparkasse Foundation (Sparkassenstiftung).
With 63 branches (including 32 self-service locations), Sparkasse Allgäu is where people live and work. It is an attractive employer and employs around 750 people. Every year, it trains around 25 young people as bank clerks and offers a dual study program for a Bachelor of Arts degree.
Since the beginning of the 2010s, Sparkasse Allgäu has been promoting and advising projects of the Deutsche Sparkassenstiftung für Internationale Kooperation (DSIK) with a focus on Asia.
The main initiator for this cooperation with the German Sparkassenstiftung is the chairman of the board Mr. Manfred Hegedüs. Depending on the required thematic focus, different short-term experts accompany the individual measures. These experts are selected specifically according to the respective needs and the personal and professional qualifications.
In the past, Sparkasse Allgäu accompanied projects with the focus on "microcredits" and "human resources development concept" for Nepal. Furthermore, a cooperation with the colleagues of GSB Thailand has already been started. However, due to Corona, this cooperation and the assignments on site had to be postponed.
We are looking forward to further trustful and goal-oriented cooperation with DSIK.
